BIOS
Nora St. John, M.S., Education Content Creator, Balanced Body
Teaching Pilates since 1988, Nora creates teacher training courses in Pilates, Anatomy in Three Dimensions and other modalities for Balanced Body Education. She holds degrees in Biology, Dance and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is the author of 16 teacher training manuals and several magazine articles. Nora has studied Dance, Chinese Medicine, manual therapy, The Franklin Method, Anatomy in Clay and personal training to enhance her understanding of the body in motion. She is currently focused on creating educational experiences that are innovative, enlightening and effective.
Brian Richey, B.S., Fit 4 Life DC
Brian is an author and international educator helping personal trainers and Pilates professionals improve their skills through courses that are engaging, relevant and highly effective. As the owner of Fit 4 Life DC, he specializes in clients with injuries and those working through obesity to optimize movement patterns, decrease pain and address their fitness and wellness goals. Brian’s book, Low Back Exercise: Stabilize Mobilize and Reduce Pain combines his strong understanding of anatomy, kinesiology and movement science with over 30 year experience working with clients in the personal training and Pilates environment.
Brian was born in Kailua, Hawai‘i, and graduated from the University of Hawai‘i with a B.S. in Exercise Science/Kinesiology. In addition to his degree, he is certified as a Medical Exercise Program Director, Medical Exercise Specialist and Post Rehabilitation Conditioning Specialist through American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehabilitation Professionals, The Melt Method, TRX, Power Plate and is an Anatomy in Three Dimensions Educator as well as MOTR and CoreAlign Master Trainer for Balanced Body.
